Dustwallow Marsh is also a great place to farm Goldthorn, but if you only pick up Goldthorn and nothing else, you will finish one lap in the zone too fast and you will have to wait for the herbs to respawn. This might not be a problem for those who only have slow mounts. I found maybe 3 nodes after 2 runs. I tried out The Hinterlands for fun, and actually found it fairly fruitful with Goldthorn. Tried out Arathi and I found about goldthorn nodes after 3 runs. Then I tried Hinterlands after reading this and was able to find around 6 goldthorn nodes in less than 2.

Where to Farm Goldthorn. They are most often on top of the small grey rock mounds sticking out of the grass. Comment by I had a lot more luck finding Goldthorn in Duskwallow Marsh than anywhere else. The path is obvious, and the Goldthorn is relatively plentiful compared to Arathi Highlands or Hinterlands.
Comment by I'm not so sure about Duskwallow Marsh - today I couldn't find even one there, and I followed the path. Unless someone else picked it all just before me, there are better places. In Feralas, for example, I found it on much more places than the pins on the map state. I flew around for about 15 minutes, and only collected under one stack. However, after flying just north, I find that there are noticeably more spawns packed more closely together in the Hinterlands than that of Arathi Highlands herbs.
Though there may be more spawns of Goldthorn in Arathi Highlands, it's a much larger zone to cover. Pick these in The Hinterlands. Comment by I've been to all the places and Feralas is by far the best for Goldthorn. In addition you roughly get the same amounts of Fadeleaf and Khadgar's whiskers.
If you fly down the middle and then to the shore in a straight line, picking all the herbs as you go. The respawn timer will have reset for all the nodes. Don't wase your time anywhere else. Very helpful. All the posts above are kind of garbage. There is very little Goldthorn mixed in with lots of other herbs for all those other zones.

Comment by matmurdock While farming Goldthorn to make mana pots for my twink priest I flew to Feralas and Dustwallow Marsh. I can with certainty tell you not to waste your time, as the maps in wowhead are probably dated and worthless. Quite the contrary, you can even farm it to sell on Auction House and earn lots of gold this way. If you have hard time earning gold in WoW I recommend using this in-game add-on, called Zygor Guides.
It really helps you with lots of aspects in the game, including Farming, Crafting, Gathering, Auction, Leveling, Professions and much more Though, the add-on costs some money, but is well worth the price. There are so few nodes in the World, that farming it can be reeeeealy annoying.
