How can i earnestly seek god

I read Malachi , realizing that I was robbing God by not giving Him my whole heart, not living for Him:. Will a man rob God?

Yet you are robbing me. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you. Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

Although this verse is often used during church offerings, the Lord spoke to me through these precious words. I was, indeed, robbing God by not seeking Him with sincere and intense conviction and something needed to change. Soon after that revelation, I was all in for the Lord. Sadly, we are too busy and too self-absorbed to truly seek Him with all our strength. It is my firm belief that, second only to salvation, seeking God is the most important aspect of the Christian life Very few of us ever experience this close relationship with God because it involves things such as humility, dying to self, vibrant prayer, and heart-felt worship.

Conviction is a wonderful gift from God used to turn the heart back to Him. Most never seek God because of ongoing and unconfessed sin. Temptation is also an opportunity to do what is right by turning from it. When we flee temptation, turn from sin, and seek God, the by-product is the filling of the Spirit. The door of temptation swings both ways—you can enter or exit. If we choose to enter, once inside, we may not see the exit sign so clearly again.

I was in complete darkness He satisfies the hungry, longing soul with good things Psalm and promises that all who come to Him will not hunger or thirst John In Matthew , Jesus tells a parable about a field with a hidden treasure.

Filled with joy, the man who stumbled upon it sold everything he had to buy the field. His Kingdom is the treasure worth shoving everything aside to pursue.
