Not really, no xD The only differentiation I make in my mind is if I doodle a random character once and never do anything more with them, I don't really consider them an OC, per se. But they're like Ah, that makes sense yeah! I used to have over for rp purposes, but I don't rp anymore, so they're kind of Maybe someday I'll reanimate some of them. Dang, , that is a lot of OCs! At last count I had 94 original characters, starting with my very first self-insert that I created in middle school.
Some of the 94 are like I didn't include anyone that I couldn't remember since obviously they weren't significant enough to stick with me , and I didn't include anyone that was just a name and design and not much else. My filing cabinets are full I have tons of OCs. Some for my own stories and some from the fandoms I like. In fact, one of the things I judge a franchise or a fandom is by how easy it is to make an OC and slip it into the world because some are much more conductive to that sort of thing than others.
I also just counted named OCs and the ones I actually have plans for in various projects. I haven't been paying attention since I'm too focused on the story that I'm trying to launch next year. I used to write down all their names in a list as I came up with them but I've lost track. When I started my comic, POW! I don't know the exact number, but I do know it's that much. I usually try to keep track of them all by organizing them based on the stories they're in.
